In the Black Fantastic Exhibition Trip

Sixth form students took a trip to the Hayward Gallery to see the In the Black Fantastic exhibition curated by Ekrow Eshun. This was a great way to kick off the new school year and get creative juices flowing. The exhibition features 12 black artists and highlights an important, and under acknowledged, area of current artistic production - namely, the work of black artists who make use of fantastical genres and motifs to address racism and social injustice, and also to invoke alternative social scenarios. Students were extremely inspired by what they saw from the themes such as migration, liberation and invocation to the wide range of materials and mediums used.
