Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Training Day

Posted on: 21/11/2019

The Year 12 Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award students were put through their paces on a gruelling trek across the Seven Sisters Cliffs between Eastbourne and Newhaven. Over the course of six and a half hours they passed backpacks around to ensure an even distribution of weight and ensured no team member was left behind. They admired the beautiful landscapes of the South Downs and said hello to the paragliders who swooped down to meet them. Morale was kept continuously high through singing, support and strange dancing!

The end was treacherous as dusk began to set in, but with their destination in sight, they made their final descent towards the beach where we celebrated and headed for the bus.

A special thank you to Ms Beard for her continued support, food and all around brilliance. The Duke of Edinburgh Award at CCA simply could not run without such amazing colleagues!

Next destination: Dartmoor in May 2019!
