Open House at Capital
Posted on: 22/09/2018Twenty five years ago, Victoria Thornton had the idea of allowing the public free access to some of London`s finest buildings, in order to increase awareness of and appreciation of great architecture. This idea has spread and grown over the years since and this particular year more than a quarter of a million people were able to visit wonderful buildings and go on walks and tours of great places of interest.
Last weekend thirty such visitors came to look and admire the Capital City Academy building. They were really impressed and full of praise. It was a designed by the world famous architect Norman Foster. Lord Foster utilised the latest materials, the most environmentally –friendly ideas and the most up to date concepts in arranging educational spaces. The academy, with it’s extensive sports and play areas, fits seamlessly into the surrounding park. A very modern building, designed to suit the school specialisms of sport and the arts, it raises the spirits of all those who work and study there.
