SHINE@Capital Saturday school is in full swing!

SHINE@Capital is in its third week and is already making a positive impact on 60 Year 7 students.

The theme this term is 'Around the World in 10 weeks'. Students will embark on a discovery of different recipes from around the world, so far making Italian pizza and Spanish mandarin upside cake!

In Literacy, students have been analysing stories from around the world on a quest to create their own story influenced by their heritage.

Music sessions have been harmonious as students work towards an end of year xylophone performance.

Students are becoming Times Table Rock Stars by answering multiplication and division facts in an online Rock game. So far, a few students have managed to ‘rock on’ by scoring 34 correct facts in 60 seconds! Our current Year 8 champion has scored 120 correct answers in 60 seconds!

Thank you to our parents and carers who are ensuring that their child is up and arriving at school by 9:15am on Saturdays, you are all showing great commitment.
