The Spirit of Volunteering

Posted on: 18/09/2017

Capital has a very strong history of volunteering with many of our students helping others within the confines of the school and the wider community. We have been recognised at National level for the commitment and integrity shown by our volunteers with several of our students winning national awards. Our spirit of volunteering also extends to the staff. Recently, Nadia Penn volunteered at the World Athletics Championships which took place in London. Nadia was a Team Attaché for both Iran and Eritrea where she helped the athletes throughout the event. Nadia has also volunteered at other high profile events such as The London 2012 Olympics, London NFL events, Common Wealth games 2014 in Glasgow and the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Her commitment and dedication to volunteering and helping others is both admirable and inspiring.

Nadia also volunteers within our school. She runs lunch time clubs including homework support, French & Arabic clubs, Art clubs and helps out with the Shine Summer School. Nadia has also been a Parent Governor for the school.

Our school is very fortunate to have such a compassionate member of staff.
