School Results: 2007Capital City Academy 2007 GCSE and KS3 SATs results (GCSE Case Studies - click here) Students at Capital City Academy achieved the school’s best ever results at GCSE and Key Stage Three SATs in 2007. “At GCSE the improvement over 2006 was quite spectacular,” said Principal Philip O’Hear, “which reflects the improved curriculum and teaching we now have in place”. Top performers in Year 11 were: Jameel Shah who achieved 8A* and 6A Amina El-briri who achieved 7A, 6B and 2C Izatullah Haleghi who achieved 8A, 1B, 3C, 2D and 1E Roshni Vekaria who achieved 8A, 3B and 1C Iman Adare who achieved 3A and 10B In addition, 23 Y10 students gained GCSE English, with 5 A’s, 5 B’s and 13 C’s, reflecting the school’s commitment to accelerate the progress of it's more able students. “We expected these good results,” commented Principal Philip O’Hear. “We set challenging targets for our students and they have met these, making outstanding progress between Key stage Three and Four – more than double the progress made in similar schools nationally. We will have a very high value-added score as a result.
