Our Curriculum is organised in four stages:

Year 7 builds on students' experience of primary school with two days (12 out of our 30 lessons) of project-based learning with one or two teachers which we call Learning For Life. The projects cover the subject areas of humanities, the arts and technology. The work is focussed on developing the key skills for learning which will be used all the way through the school - and in later life. The core subjects of English, maths and science, along with physical education and modern foreign languages (french, german or spanish) are taught by specialists. Classes are organised according to the levels students have reached in primary school, with two fast track "Capital" groups which are taught at a quicker pace, four or five "Academy" groups of students at average levels of attainment from primary school and one or two smaller "Core" classes of students who need extra support with their learning.

Years 8 and 9 are subject based, with specialist teaching across the whole of the national curriculum: English, maths, science, physical education, ICT, history, geography, religious education, french or german or spanish, art, dance, drama, music, technology, food studies and personal, social and health education. Where possible, students move onto GCSE level work in Year 9. Students continue to be taught in classes based on their overall level in Year 8 but in Year 9, setting is introduced in English, maths and science.

Years 10 and 11 consists of a core of English, maths, science, physical education and RE and citizenship and a wide range of academic and vocational options including history, geography, double/triple science, art, music, dance, drama, PE, languages, business studies, health and social care, media studies, product design in resistant materials, textiles or graphics, food studies and ICT.  This allows each student to follow a pathway suited to their needs, interests and level of attainment and great care is taken in helping students and parents to make their option choices in Year 9. Where possible, classes are set within subject areas to ensure teaching is at the level needed by students.

The Sixth Form provides a full range of A-level courses (As in Year 12 and A2 in Year 13) including level 3 BTEC vocational courses. The range is extended through our partnership with other South Brent Schools, allowing our students to take on or two subjects at one of our partner schools and consists of English, maths, physics, chemistry, biology, french, spanish, art, drama, music, history, geography, psychology, ICT. media studies, physical education, business studies, design technology, philosophy and ethics, health and social care. Further courses are offered to those who need to improve their basic skills and GCSE level work before embarking on advanced level work. The range provided means that students can take a combination of subjects which suits both their level of attainment and their career aim.
