OFSTED Inspection - November 2008
Ofsted carried out a full inspection of the Academy on 12th and 13th November, 2008.
Ofsted has judged that the school is good overall and "makes a positive difference to the lives of its students." Ofsted found that "all students achieve well and, overall, reach standards that are broadly in line with those students achieve nationally." The inspectors linked our progress to our flexibility and our "inclusive, welcoming ethos."
Key judgements are that the following areas are good:-
Overall effectiveness of the main school and the sixth form
- Achievement and Standards
- Personal Development and Well-Being
- Teaching and Learning
- Behaviour
and a large number of areas are outstanding, including:
- Leadership and Management
- Partnership Working to support students
- Care, guidance and support for students.
- The extent to which students adopt healthy lifestyles.
- The positive contribution of students to the community.
- The curriculum and other activities and how well these meet the needs and interests of students.
