| Support for Haiti |
|
The support for Haiti continued this week at Capital with a group of our Year 7 students making a video with messages to the children of Haiti. This is now on its way to a Barbadian musician (Terry Arthur) who will set it to music and it will be played all over America and the Carribean, including Haiti. On Thursday 4th February Kyro Evans (Year 7) spoke on Power Radio (http://www.power1021fm.com) on behalf of Capital City Academy, talking about raising money and with a few words of comfort to the Children of Haiti. A petition has also been set up by Miss Heyes (Attendance Officer) at No10 Downing street (http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Enfants/) asking the UN and UNICEF to help stop, without delay, the removal of Haiti's children, until stringent measures are in place to ensure correct procedures for adoption abroad, are carried out. This petition was picked up by Wyclef who has twittered it to 1.3 million people! |
