Student Voice is a means of involving students in the organizational structure of the school and engaging them in the school community. At Capital City Academy we aim at engaging students and involving them at the heart of our learning community. Our student leadership groups seek to successfully develop the school's culture and ethos as well as nurture and support the integration and expansion of student voice activities. Head Girl/Head Boy The role of Head Girl and Head Boy will be undertaken by students in Year 12. These senior students will be ambassadors for the Academy, along with other student leaders representing the school at local and national events. They will chair the Student Council and design a Duty Rota for other student leaders. Prefects Prefects will be selected from Years 7-11. Prefects will support the Head Girl and Head Boy in maintaining an effective learning environment including caring for the building and resources, encouraging and developing the Culture for Learning as well as promoting mutual respect for each other. Year Councils The Year Councils will be the principal forum through which the views of students can be shared. Each Learning Advisor Group will elect a girl and a boy to represent them at the Year Council. Year Councils will be chaired by the Year Team Leaders. The Year Council will elect one girl and one boy to represent them on the Student Council. Student Council The Student Council will be the principal forum through which the views of students can be implemented. It will consist of a boy and a girl representing each Year Group - 12.
