HumanitiesWelcome to the Humanities Department The study of Humanities at Capital City Academy allows students to develop their knowledge and understanding of the past and the present. Through the study of Geography, History and Religious Education students are given opportunities to develop a wide range of transferable skills whilst becoming independent and investigative learners. At Key Stage 3 students study an interesting range of topics that allow them to develop their ICT, literacy and numeracy skills. Whilst we follow the National Curriculum we ensure the topics and issues are topical and relevant to the lives of our students. At Key Stage we offer students the opportunity to study GCSE Geography and GCSE History. These interesting options give students the opportunities to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills obtained in Key Stage 3. In addition, all students study a short – course GCSE Religious Education.
