  • What is the feudal system?

  • How do we use atlases and maps to find places in the World, Britain and the local area?

  • What caused the Black death?
  • Why did the peasants revolt?

Summer

The Geography of Crime

Key questions for enquiry:

  • What do we know about crime?
  • Is all crime recorded?
  • What do we feel about the different types of crime?
  • Is there a fear of crime?
  • Are there areas of the locality where we expect more or less crime?
  •  Is it possible to map certain crimes in our locality?
  • Would a better understanding of the geography of crime help people reduce its occurrence?
  • Are there patterns of crime nationwide?
  • Is there a difference between urban and rural crime?

Elizabeth I

Key questions for enquiry?

  • How did Elizabeth become queen of England?
  • How successful did she deal with the problems of her reign?
 

Assessment is an integral part of the curriculum. Students are assessed each lesson through question and answering, class work, homework and peer and self assessment. There is also a formal assessment in each unit which will test a combination of their knowledge, understanding and skills.
