In the first half of the term students study poems from other cultures in preparation for Paper 2 of their GCSE English. They also undertake a speaking and listening assessment in the form of a discussion. During after school classes, the students will redraft and complete their coursework. In the second half, students prepare for their mock examination. This consists of media analysis, non-fiction writing, pre-post twentieth century poetry and poems from different cultures. They then sit their mock examination in December. After this, students continue with pre/post twentieth century poetry and examination essay practice. They also undertake one of their speaking and listening assessments. |
