Year 10 trip to Lord's Cricket Ground
Posted on: 12/05/2022On 12th May, twelve boys from the Year 10 cricket team had the fortune of visiting Lord’s Cricket Ground to watch the first day of the Middlesex vs Nottinghamshire County Championship match. We took our seats in the stands with other schools from around London and watched the opening bowl from Middlesex as the crowd cheered in the glorious sun. After a couple of hours, we explored the grounds, including the museum which housed artefacts of famous cricket players from over the years and an interesting exhibit on women in cricket. Hameed played a steady inning whilst students from schools managed to get a few pictures with Andersson who was fielding on the boundary, as the rest of the crowd took in the atmosphere. After lunch, the boys tested out their batting skills in the indoor nets against another school in a game of continuous quick cricket. Some excellent skills were demonstrated and they left feeling excited and inspired to get stuck into a game of cricket once we reached school.
