Hairspray!

A new era for the arts at Capital City Academy was recently announced by Mr Kensit, our new Director of The Arts, and this was stunningly inaugurated by our production of the hit musical "Hairspray" just prior to the end of last term. A wonderfully vibrant and colourful musical full of great Stax and early Motown style songs, set in Baltimore during the Civil Rights period, the cast threw themselves into it wholeheartedly. Fabulous period costumes and fantastic acting performances ensured audiences on both nights were in for a treat! They loved it and raised the roof at the end! We were assured that this was just the beginning and that school productions were going to get bigger and better year upon year. Exciting times are definitely on the horizon!
