Brent Athletics Championships 2017
Posted on: 15/05/2017Capital hosted the Brent Athletics Championships again this year at Willesden Sports Centre. 14 secondary schools from Brent sent their very best athletes to take part in the borough competition where the Brent Team will be selected for the Middlesex County Championships on 10th June.
Our PE staff ran the event assisted by our exceptional sports leaders in Years 9, 12 and 13. The event ran over two days and saw 5 new Brent records broken including one by Capital's Nia Wedderbrun-Gooidson. Nia broke the Year 7 - 11 year old 100m record with a time of 12.87s.
There were fantastic performances from all Brent schools with Capitals Year 10 Boys winning the 4 x 100m relay to finish the event.
A very special mention must go to Kahlil Francis who captained the Year 10 boys team and showed outstanding leadership skills throughout the day.
