A fantastic performance by Capital Germanists

Posted on: 04/05/2017

On Thursday 4th May, three Capital students; Lukman, Sayeda and Kristine went to Coopers Coborn School in Upminster to take part in the Regional Modern Foreign Languages Spelling Bee final. After being selected out of 9000 candidates across London, they fought against 20 other pupils from different schools to spell as many words as they could in a minute. The competition was fierce and they performed amazingly but alas, they did not reach the final due to another pupil spelling 26 words in a minute!

Lukman, Sayeda and Kristine were an absolute credit to the school and really made us all so proud. Additionally to their and the school's credit, we were one of only two schools to enter more than two entrants into the German final showing Capital City Academy's commitment to both languages and German.

A massive thank you to all parents and pupils who supported this year's Spelling Bee and we hope to enter next year. The biggest thank you goes to Lukman, Sayeda and Kristine for all of their hard work.
