Year 12 Trip to the British Library
Posted on: 26/02/2020Year 12 English students took a trip to the British Library for a lecture on the history of women’s rights in the 20th Century. They enjoyed soaking up the literary atmosphere and seeing the library’s ‘treasures’ before joining Lead Curator, Polly Russell, for a discussion on Women’s Liberation and feminism as a counterculture movement from the 1960s up to today. They spent time considering academic perspectives on women’s rights throughout history; we discussed the struggles for equality faced by various groups today and the process of looking for the ‘left out’ voices in history and literature.
