Capital City students on the BBC (again!)Posted on: 04/12/2019
BBC Radio 4 drama - This is Your Country Now, Too
Earlier this year, the Theatre Director, Nicholas Kent, and the BBC approached the Academy and Salusbury World to ask for help with a series of radio plays they were making. Six students were recorded by the sound team talking about their journeys from their home countries and their first impressions of London and the UK.
The series is called This is Your Country Now, Too. Seven plays are being broadcast this week on Radio 4 and each tells the story of a child refugee fleeing their country for an unknown future, from children fleeing from the Nazis in World War II in Europe, through to a story from Syria.
The plays are moving and powerful - and each begins with the voices of students from Capital City talking about their own experiences.
Some of these stories were difficult for the students to tell. The BBC team were so impressed with their bravery and maturity.
