TECHMIX Award Ceremony at the Wembley Stadium

Posted on: 27/11/2019

The Journey

We had a number of our students participating in a Tech challenge set by Tech Mix last year. They had to pitch their ideas and face an elimination round competing against other schools and colleges. Capital City Academy students battled their way through and were a winning team. Yes.... We won!

However, the journey did not end there; all the participants had to complete a series of activities and portfolio prior to the final challenge. Their work has been assessed by Open Awards and approved by Ofqual. This made the qualification invaluable especially when students have to apply for colleges or work experience.

Upon successful completion of their portfolio, participants were invited to collect their 'Entry Level 3 in Professional Development' certificate at Wembley Stadium. The full programme was sponsored by Brent Local Authority Tech Camps & Awards Programme 'EMPLOYER CONSORTIUM'.

The Award Ceremony

It was a great pleasure to accompany our students for their Award Ceremony. It took place at the heart of Wembley Stadium. Participants and guests had the privilege of experiencing a VIP Room facing the centre of stadium. It was such a spectacular view!

After speeches by guests, participants were called forward to receive their certificates. They had the privilege of meeting members from Brent Council: Cllr McLennan and Cllr Agha. They had a handshake and they were handed their prestigious certificates. They also had a chance to meet Headteachers, educators, Mr Baker (Managing Director of Tech Mix), and leading employers such as Genium and Hyperoptic.

Finally, we had some great group photos taken as a souvenir. We would like to congratulate all our participating students and hope they will keep making us proud!
