Year 11 History Trip to the National Maritime MuseumPosted on: 20/11/2019
On both Monday 4th November and Wednesday 20th November, the History Department had the pleasure of taking our entire Year 11 History cohort to workshops at the National Maritime Museum, in preparation for their GCSE History topic of the Spanish Armada.
Students were a credit to the Academy on both days, and gained a huge amount through their participation in the various lectures and workshops. Highlights were the opportunities presented for students to see first-hand the world famous Armada Portrait, which they have studied in printed form in class, and also to read genuine letters from King Philip II of Spain to Elizabeth which were over 500 years old!
It is always a pleasure to take CCA students on trips to experience things outside of their comfort zones and, as usual, our students rose to the occasion and were a true credit to the Academy. Well done!
