Top Performer Case Study - Ali

Ali joined Capital City Academy in Year 7 after attending a total of 8 primary schools; 3 in Iraq and 5 in the UK. This was due to his family moving and relocating for work numerous times. He joined Capital with a basic level of conversational English and although this was a challenge, it certainly did not hold him back. He settled in well and found students and staff to be very welcoming and supportive. Ali has just received his GCSE results scoring top marks – 9,9,9,9,8,8,8,7,6,A*,Dis*. He is delighted with his results especially his 8 for English Language, and feels his hard work has paid off!

Ali will be continuing at Capital for Sixth Form studying Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Further Maths. He is really looking forward to starting his A-levels and is particularly excited about taking part in the UK Maths Challenge in Year 12 having achieved a gold in Year 11 and coming top in his year group
