Year 13 Outdoor Educational trip to the Peak DistrictPosted on: 23/10/2018
As part of the VTCT Level 3 course, students are assessed in an outdoor adventurous activity. This year they spent 4 days in the beautiful Peak District National Park in Derbyshire, staying at the Hathersage YHA and spending most of the daylight on the hills.
The students successfully passed the unit of work having been assessed in navigational skills, leadership, organisation, route planning and how to work as a team. They ended up trekking nearly 13 miles on the assessment walk and didn’t get lost!
They were blessed with the weather with only a few minutes of rain on the first day which meant magnificent views and stunning scenery in this great part of England.
The students were excellent and as always it is a pleasure to take our young people out of the school environment and indulge them in something completely different. Here are just a few of the pictures from the trip.
