Capital students perform at the BBC Proms
Posted on: 29/07/2018On 29th July, an amazing group of students from Capital performed at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. More than 12,000 people saw their performance on the day and it was also broadcast around the world by the BBC. Their poem "Home" was written as part of the Brave New Voices project run by English PEN and Salusbury World, and is partly in English and partly in Arabic. You can listen to it via the link below - you'll also hear the thunderous applause they received at the end!
It was an incredible experience that none of us will forget. Performing on the big stage with the actors and the orchestra was scary but brilliant. We loved meeting the actors involved in our Prom - Naomi Wilkinson, Josie Lawrence and Paapa Essiedu. Some of us were even on the BBC News!
You can listen to their performance on SoundCloud.
