Culture CapitalPosted on: 07/02/2018
On Wednesday 7th February, students from Years 10 and 11 took part in a theatre workshop as part of the ‘Cultural Capital’, MFL Enrichment Programme.
The students looked at the play Huis Clos (No Exit) by Jean-Paul Sartre in French and English. They discussed the context in which the play was written, namely the Nazi occupation of France in the 1940s. The play also generated a very interesting discussion about our ideas of hell and Sartre’s belief that “hell is other people”. The students reflected on how they would put on this play and even acted out the dramatic final scene!
Well done to Antonio, Mirianne, Faith, Salma, Sabrin and Fatama for giving up their time after school to try something new!
