Brunel University 'The Language of Art Summer School'

This Summer School was a unique opportunity to develop Year 12 Art students' knowledge, critical problem solving, negotiating and communication skills whilst developing skills to prepare and present the work for viewers. Students learnt to be proactive in collecting responses from their visitors in order to meet a target and review comments for their personal future development.

Students thoroughly enjoyed an intriguing 3 day Summer School exploring the different ways language is used in conceptual art and investigating how language and images function as systems of representation working in groups formed by art students from other selected schools/colleges, forming new friendships whilst developing an insight into university arts education. Students created wonderful art installations pieces within each group.
