It is a great privilege to lead Capital City Academy; the fantastic staff and students really exemplify our values and it is a place of tangible learning for all. We have used the difficulties of the past few months to help us reflect on how best to support each other, to achieve the very best in teaching and learning and ensure that we offer an exceptional environment for academic, artistic and sporting success. Our renewed vision statement encompasses all that Capital City Academy offers to staff, students and the local community and it is exciting to relaunch the fantastic extra-curricular opportunities that we can offer due to our amazing facilities, staff and location. The enthusiasm, discipline and ambition of our students combined with the high expectations and willing hard work of the staff have meant that we have seen results increase year-on-year and Ofsted particularly commended our Capital Community and culture. Day to day, the desire of all those at the academy to enable all students to reach their full potential can be seen.
Parents and carers play a vital role at the academy and the home-school partnership is key to realising each student’s potential. We can't wait to welcome parents again not only to parent meetings, academic review days and information evenings but also to our awards evenings, arts events and sporting fixtures.
There is much to celebrate at Capital and we believe that strong relationships, rewards and recognition, and clear and consistent routines allow all to thrive. Students often cite the great relationships with their teachers and the way that each one of them goes above and beyond to support every student as the key to their success.
We are confident that when you visit Capital, talk to our students, staff and parents/carers, hear first-hand about the opportunities and successes of our school and see the wonderful facilities - you will want to join us.
