Academic (Advanced Level Single Qualifications)
A levels are highly academic qualifications for students who want to study at university. Most A levels are externally assessed by examinations, and often include extended writing as non-examined assessment (coursework). There is the opportunity to study the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), similar to a university dissertation.
T Levels
T levels are a brand new qualification designed to give students a head start to future careers right after sixth form. T levels are challenging qualifications that are Level 3 equivalents to A levels. They are a blend of classroom learning, and learning from industry placements, students can progress to highly skilled employment.
Applied General (Advanced Level Extended Diplomas)
Level 3 applied general courses are a blend of coursework and some externally assessed exams. Students can progress to employment - e.g.an apprenticeship, a foundation course or a vocational degree at higher education level. Choose one extended diploma, which is equivalent to three A levels.
Level 2
Students who are yet to achieve the requirements for Level 3 courses can study the Level 2 pathway. Students can then apply for a T level or BTEC either here at Capital, or at an alternative provider (if Capital does not offer the student’s T level or BTEC choice).
